Make "Move 'featuring' text..." checkbox independant of "Artists within an album" rule
Because I'd like to authorize varying track artists and move the "featuring..." text to the track title tag in the same time.
Impossible now, the settings are exclusive.1 vote -
mediamonkey like renaming options
Ad if and left statements to renaming would make this just about perfect
example:
$left(\Music\$if(<Album Artist>,$if(<Album Artist>=various,<Album Artist>,$if(<Album Artist>=techno,<Album Artist>,$if(<Album Artist>=soundtrack,_<Album Artist>,<Album Artist@1><Album Artist>))),Artist@1<Artist>)\$if(<Album>,$if(<Year>,<Year> - )<Album>)\$if(<track#>,<track#> - )<Artist> - <Title>,240)would produce:
\Music\A\A Perfect Circle\2004 - eMOTIVe\02 - A Perfect Circle - Imagine.mp3
\Music\Z\ZZ Top\1983 - Eliminator\01 - ZZ Top - Gimme All Your Lovin'.mp3
\Music_Soundtrack\2006 - V for Vendetta\09 - Cat Power - I Found a Reason.mp3
\Music_Techno\1991 - XL Recordings- The Second Chapter\07 - Cubic 22 - Night in Motion (Original mix).flac
\Music_Various\2007 - Endzeit Bunkertracks, Act 3 (disc 2- Torture session)\01 - Faderhead…6 votes -
Monitoring a master music server library but storing music local
I am storing all my music on a central music server in the house. New music is discovered and added to iTunes local library (in order for the kids to be able to play music offline or when they are out of the house) using iTunes Folder Watch. But as I see it both the old folder watch software and the new Library Toolkit cannot monitor changes to music on the music server and then syncronize to the local iTunes Library. The new adverticed facility where library toolkit should be able to monitor changes is only working if iTunes media…

Better image downsampling algorithm
Very high-resolution covers look quite ugly the way bliss downscales them at the moment. The problem is that you're probably using bilinear interpolation. This produces aliasing artefacts when downsampling.
I don't really know how to do that in Java, but if you need more info on the image processing side of things, I do know about those.
This is obviously not the most important thing in the world :)

Show artwork size in Kb when choosing an alternative
To display the artwork size in Kb that has been found so the user can then make a choice of datasize over quality. Larger datasize artwork does not always mean higher quality.

View track on iTunes
It would be good if you can make a button that would navigate us to the track within iTunes. This way we can change the name of an album or view the other fields for editing. Love your product! It has saved me so much time and effort. Thanks!

Better quality album art...
I end up manually updating my album art, as the quality is not good enough. I always select a resolution of 500x500, but sometimes album art is the correct resolution but very compressed and poor quality. I end up doing a manual search on google images for 500x500 artwork and find a much better quality image. Is there any way Bliss can look at compression or file size and choose better quality images automatically? Maybe extra sources for album art would help, if this is possible.

Allow me to enter the correct file name/path when that is the non-compliance error
when I get a non compliance error, the program is not offering n option for me to enter a fix, and no automatic fix is offered, so I have to browse the folder andattempt a fix. I'm not sure why

update more than one album's artwork in one go
Say- shift click ablums - then do an artwork lookup (say I have three CD's with a single cover artwork), update all three in one go.

Provide support for film soundtracks.
To give an example of a Bollywood release, lets take an example of a movie called Dostana ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dostana_(2008_film) ) Each song in the release can be sung by a different artist. This is where i beleive the problem starts.I see multiple albums on Bliss with different album artist names below. To resolve the issue i erase all the info of Artist(s) from the file, and then it recognizes the release as one album.

Custom Folder image for compilation folders
In the blog, you wrote:
.. bliss tries to work out whether the directory in which the tracks
.. are stored is used exclusively for that one album. Otherwise,
.. some music players may use the artwork as the art for other
.. albums. Sometimes you may have a directory that stores
.. multiple miscellaneous tracks from different albums.which is cool, but it would be nice if I could assign custom art to the FOLDER as well.
It's wonderful that bliss gets the right art into each song, but when viewing the tree structure in some players, the folder.jpg…

Option to alter memory consumption
Currently, bliss as a service is chewing ~200Mb with consistently ~3% CPU cycles on a modern computer with a small library. Yes, it's mostly a Java issue (it loving memory and all), but when you also use your server for VM's, 4Gb starts to look a bit... weak... Also, reduction in CPU cycles = reduction in power bill.
I would like an option where I could specify the ceiling of how much memory bliss should consume. The levels would be something like 64, 128, 256 MB.

"Start fresh" option in the admin panels" delete all previous knowledge of this installation.
After doing a substantial cleanup of duplicate files, moving junk around, moving folders and generally re-logicalizing the entire library, it became clear that Bliss was now hopelessly confused. I needed to go into the .bliss folder and clear out the database that held bliss's knowledge of the library as it was.
This was something of a pain, although what to delete was in the documentation on the bliss web site. It would be nice to have a button (with confirmation of course) that said "Start from scratch." or words to that effect.

Format track number as xx/yy (yy:album number of tracks)
'Track number length at least' could host en additional entry to specify track as xx/yy

update reports on library status/new changes via email or messaging
Reports via email or other messaging that notify you on any new albums/changes to your library and whether they are compliant - so when I rip a new CD on vortexbox then bliss works its magic and I get an email telling me whether its compliant or not, also an overall report on the state of my library would be good

Be clear about charges before installation
I think the developer should be clearer about the £10 charge for 1000 "fixes".

Summary of stats
bliss should present a summary of music library statistics. For example, number of albums, of which how many are compliant and how many not. This could also be split by type of rule - e.g. how much cover art is compliant, how many files/folders are correct etc.

Add a table/details overview (in addition to the grid)
Iit would be good to have a list/table view with album names down the left, and columns for other aspects like artist names, compliancy of different rules and maybe shortcuts to functionality, e.g. changing the art, file paths or tags within the overview screen.
The analogy are file explorers: typically they allow grid/thumbnail views as well as detail views where files can be ordered by different columns, and different metadata about the files can be viewed in the column cells.
Just as with the grid view, you would be able to filter by compliance or startsWith. The option would likely…
