Allow license to be added as parameter on startup
I've been playing around with docker version of bliss that has been started by grant Shipley (credit: https://github.com/gshipley/bliss).
One thing I've noticed is every time I start it, while I can preserve the config for the database the license information is lost and I have to manually re-enter it.
Suggestion from this idea is to find a way to allow the user to pass in their license on startup. Suggestion is setting a parameter in startup script that will load if valid.
Unless there is a way already to do this?

Add a capability to add the correct linked release if it is not found by Bliss
Add a capability to add the correct linked release if it is not found by Bliss.
Often (especially for more obscure albums) the album is marked non-compliant as the list of linked releases does no find the actual matching release. If I unlink all releases and rescan, it will clear the errors, but it would be good, after unlinking all the incorrect releases, to be able to add the correct release so bliss was able to verify the tags against the correct release (rather than just marking it all as compliant becuase it has no linked releases to check against).19 votes -
Options of ignoring @eaDir errors (possibly more)
I am finding a lot of my folders have certain files that causes bliss to ignore the whole analysis of a that folder. Would like to have an override to ignore these types of filess & alow bliss to continue to process or even delete them automatically to then rescan accordingly. Files I am finding that causes ignore errors = ini files, thumbnails , any form of art= jpg bmp, gif, png etc , playlists & any other file that could stop bliss from processing.

Reached limit of watched albums
On my synology nas I reach the watch limit at around 3149 albums with activity log of :- Reached limit of inotify watches permissible on this system. Please review http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/13751/kernel-inotify-watch-limit-reached for remedies
So ideally require Bliss to work out the maximum watch limits & then simple warning message when clicking on the watch album radio button that if you have xyz albums do not watch for changes. OR alternatively a simple inbuilt button for any system including a NAS tweak that allows more albums to be watched than current limits.
Appreciate this is not always a bliss error but a…8 votes -
Overall / queue progression bar
Hi,
Great software, a bit slow on my synology NAS but usable, a plus would be to have an overall progression bar : I guess you have some sort of a queue in Bliss, which could be rendered next to the "Scanned X of Y albums" and why not a ETA indicator ?
Thanks again for your software

Identify MP3's with Progressive JPEG Album Art
Progressive JPEG's are not widely compatible with music players .... specifically Mazda Connect in my case.
It would be great to be able to identify MP3's with progressive Album Art and ideally flatten the image.

album art too large when viewed on album compliance
When clicking on album name from the album page the art seems to take up far too much space or is it just me? Appreciate the whole page can be zoomed in & out but need to still read the details & edit them. I think the art could be at least half the size allowing for more details to be shown on the page without using the scroll bars. Perhaps if the art was even shown smaller on the page but then on clicking the art it zoomed in for anyone wanting to see the finer details of it!

Fine-grain filters in the COMPLIANCE IS section
As of 20170901 bliss shows 5 categories of compliance state. I'd like to see a finer grain breakdown of 'Non-compliant' and 'Incorrect Tags'. I see this as a valuable tool in managing a library.
I currently have nearly 300 albums in the 'Incorrect Tags' category but I can't see its components (i.e. Album name / Album artist / Track name / Track Number / Discnumber) unless I open the Why? drop down on each album individually. This is tedious and slow.
My ideal is to be able select a sub-set of Non-compliant or Incorrect Tags - for instance Album name…

Allow for directory-level album artwork backup
I'd like to be able to change the name of the existing artwork file as well as create an optimized version. For example, I'd like to have it take the original "cover.jpg", rename it as "cover (original).jpg", and then make the optimized version "cover.jpg". Since I'm also embedding artwork, the current backup option isn't ideal, since I don't need backups of the artwork for every file; I just want to rename the original file as well as give a name to the optimized version in a directory.

For genres, optionally pull in music "style" as well
The 'style' field in Discogs tends to have valuable information for organizing my music, for example, a movie soundtrack I own has "Rock, Pop, Classical" as it's genres in Discogs. However the 'Style' field in Discogs is "Soundtrack", which is what I would like to categorize it under. Currently Bliss marks it as non-compliant and suggests I set the soundtrack to "Rock". This also means most sub-genres (post-rock, trance, house, etc) are marked as invalid and are suggested to set to their parent categories (Rock, Electronic).
I can see how this could be a non-issue, as most of the time…

only automatically move if compliant in other respects
Could we have only auto move files only if they are compliant & not until. So the final compliance is the move. Therefore these can be moved elsewhere in huge collections therefore easy to see what bliss still needs to work on.

Allow for Checking of DPI Value for Embedded Artwork
I've noticed that some albums that have passed bliss compliance checks have failed to display artwork in my car (2014 Audi A3 with MMI). When I've checked the embedded artwork, the culprits always have a high value for the dpi - eg 300dpi. Artwork at 72 or 96dpi displays correctly.
Can a check on dpi be done as part of the compliance check, even if it's not possible to automatically correct it?

Synology Bliss - Albums page genre suggested & custom tag
On the albums page & on showing the fixes would it be possible to amalgamate the suggested genre with the custom genre that may have been set by the user. Then only one genre tag button to deal with?

Missing album art, auto own image.
Rather than having multiple missing album ar as potential fixes, have a default image of your own choice that automatically gets uplaoded & inserted into the music file. (done within the settings) When time allows you can search for no album art files & correctly change to an alternative if required or leave a is.

Date formatting rule (e.g. trim the date field to just the year)
It would be helpful if you could force the date field to be just the year - as in, 1997/02/28 to simply 1997

Carry on from where it left off
Having Bliss back to work where it left off when restarting would be very useful especially for NAS devices with scheduled start / stop package.
(allows you to run Bliss only at night to save memory/cpu when you use the NAS at day)67 votes -
Truncate filenames to comply with file system limits
Especially with classical albums, they can get very long file names or directory names which exceed the limit imposed by various file systems. If Bliss automatically truncated very long file names to comply with the file system then it would avoid orphaned files that get left behind when Bliss is cataloguing and arranging files.

Missing tracks in albums should be detected
Title says it all I think.
BLISS should (optionally) check if an album in a collection is complete or if it's missing songs and possibly even display the missing ones, so I know which ones to buy.
Pretty much like this beets plugin http://beets.readthedocs.io/en/v1.3.19/plugins/missing.html

move subdirectories too when moving to new structure
I happen to have a library of more than 4000 album ripped with EAC. I put rip info in an /INFO subdirectory of the album and the scanned album art (which can be multple files, sometimes whole booklets) in an /ART subdirectory. It is very nice that Bliss can reorganise my structure (and insert stuff like disc number, track number ane year) however after bliss is done, the original directories remain with their corresponding /ART and /INFO dirs. I don't want bliss to do anything with these files, consider them to be master information (like masters of your sourcefiles). But…
