  1. Tags - Save column display settings

It would be very useful if you can save your view/display settings for you tags.
Now, Every time I go back to the tags page it displays the default columns, and I have to select again the Year and Genre columns.
I know files may have different field tags applied, but this would be useful for Common Tags only

  2. Consolidate Albums (soundtracks, compilations)

Not sure if this is a duplicate of "Albums and Artists Fusion". If you think it is, let me know and I'll move my vote.

I'm after a way to join albums that have different artists (manually if required). This includes both moving the files to a common directory structure, and making the album artist tags consistent.

There are a couple of scenarios:

    1) iTunes puts compilations under Compilations\Album Name\tracks, but some of my music that has been ripped is under Various Artists\Album Name\tracks or Various\Album Name\tracks or Soundtrack\Album Name\tracks. It would be nice if Bliss could identify compilations/soundtracks where…

  3. Always album track listing, with optional potential duplicate file indication

On an album's page, there is no track listing unless the File Organization Rules are active (if disabled, no track file info at all). One would expect to see both track names and filenames should be listed. The workarounds, to go via the Tags page, or enable the file-org rule(s), are suboptimal.

Moreover, if potential duplicates could be indicated in the track list (and propagated to the album overview), it would make cleaning up large aggregated collections a little less frustrating.

The duplicate detection could be as simple as a case-insensitive comparison of the filename (e.g. "There are 4 similarly…

  4. Messaging could be clearer here?

I have an EP, and it seems to be "Not found",which is fair enough. But I am havng real difficulty loading this one manually....Not sure what is the underlying issue ...

    Here is what I see.

    Didn't pass through [LazyLoadAlbum] Before I Come Home by Hunter and the Bear Disc: [not loaded] Tracks: LazyLoadTrack[name=[On The Run],nodes=[JaudioTaggerStorageNode[full id=file:/storage/music/flac/Hunter%20and%20the%20Bear/Before%20I%20come%20Home/On%20The%20Run.flac,root=/storage/music/flac]]] LazyLoadTrack[name=[Rise],nodes=[JaudioTaggerStorageNode[full id=file:/storage/music/flac/Hunter%20and%20the%20Bear/Before%20I%20come%20Home/4%20-%20%20Rise.flac,root=/storage/music/flac]]] LazyLoadTrack[name=[Montana Men],nodes=[JaudioTaggerStorageNode[full id=file:/storage/music/flac/Hunter%20and%20the%20Bear/Before%20I%20come%20Home/Montana%20Men.flac,root=/storage/music/flac]]] LazyLoadTrack[name=[Rise],nodes=[JaudioTaggerStorageNode[full id=file:/storage/music/flac/Hunter%20and%20the%20Bear/Before%20I%20come%20Home/Rise.flac,root=/storage/music/flac]]] LazyLoadTrack[name=[Pick Me Up],nodes=[JaudioTaggerStorageNode[full id=file:/storage/music/flac/Hunter%20and%20the%20Bear/Before%20I%20come%20Home/Pick%20Me%20Up.flac,root=/storage/music/flac]]] for assessment because some of tracks don't exist: JaudioTaggerStorageNode[full id=file:/storage/music/flac/Hunter%20and%20the%20Bear/Before%20I%20come%20Home/4%20-%20%20Rise.flac,root=/storage/music/flac]

  5. Ability to clear and rescan part of the filesystem.

I've been using Bliss to sort out my aged and varied collection and it's working very well but... a full rescan takes hours so it would be useful to be able to recan just a part of the filesystem (eg .../The Artist).

I know that you can use Bliss to edit tags but it's much quicker to rip through files with shell commands, delete duff albums, rename artists etc and then get Bliss to check it out afterwards.

The database must know the filepath so it could verify that the files it thought were there still are (and clean it's…

  6. Ability to play untagged tracks through the browser

When faced with a collection of untagged tracks with no suggestions it would be nice if it was possibly to play the track via the web ui to assist in working out what the track is. Currently one needs to navigate the file system of the stored music and play the file, which is possible, but not nearly as simple.

  7. Include any pre-existing images in a directory (aka folder) when looking for alternative images.

Over the decades a lot of my music directories have collected various images in various filenames for use by various devices (Dension, Squeezebox, Ithings etc).

Now I'm embedding images for my latest in-car system (which seems to have suffered the backwards step of requiring embedded images), it seems a little silly to be looking on the net for images when they probably exist right next to the audio files.

  8. Playlist

    1. would be great if Bliss would permit to read and edit the content of an existing playlist 2.I am looking forward for Bliss (or another program) to allow copying music from library to e.g. USB drive using an existing playlist.

  9. Artwork per album

    1. would it be possible to display whether per album each music file has the same artwork or not?
    2. Could you make the arwork visible when one highlights one or more songs of an album in the TAG page?
    3. can you allow to change the artwork (i.e. add/ remove/ copy/ paste) directly in the TAG page?

  11. Add rule for handling artists ending in .

User case: a user listens to R.E.M.
Right now, bliss moves media into a folder R.E.M_
This is not what the user would like because underscores are ugly and we have sensible file systems in 2016
    The user might prefer that:
    a) You don't try to help them "fix" this issue. Directories can end with a _.
    b) You let them configure what to do, e.g. R.E.M. -> R.E.M or REM or whatever.

  13. Revisit cover art size parameters

Many of my albums have > 2mb folder.jpg files which bliss deems non-compliant and then proceeds to find replacement candidates. This shouldn't be non-compliant unless a user specifically sets a size limit on cover art file.

  15. Case rules for auto renaming albums, tracks, etc: adding a word list that can be edited by the user

When renaming album or track titles, artists, etc., there is an option to use title cases, except for closed words. This function works well for most albumd, but not for all. For example, albums that are in a different language than English or albums that contain abreviatians can't properly be corrected by this auto option. Therefore I'd like to see an option to have the user add specific words that should be exempted from the standard rule.

  16. See the kbps rate

Would be nice to see the bit rate of the encoded file (mp3. m4a...etc). I usually delete or move to another folder low kbps rate files. It would also be nice to see if that's a VBR or if CBR

The product doesn't seem to recognize files which are on a Western Digital MyCloud device - ie, the drop-down select shows C and D drives, but not Network. Could this be added?

  19. Reporting read-only files

For some weird reason, some of my track files were marked as read-only. This meant Bliss could not update missing ID3v2 tags, but it didn't report the problem either. Once I found the problem (as reported by J River Media Center) I managed to use Bliss to fix the tracks successfully.
