Find artwork for singles that are part of compilations
I have a number of 7" and 12" Singles in iTunes, many are recorded from vinyl, others are part of compilations, others just solo downloads from iTunes etc.
Would it be possible for Bliss to acknowledge things like compilations and, as an option in addition to ALBUM artwork, look up artwork based on TRACK name and ARTIST to find the single's artwork?
At present I have to do this manually via Discogs.

Use the folder and file name to help identify songs, albums and other tags when no tags exist
When a file is taged with just the words 'Album' / 'Artist' or just rubbish, try and identify the tag details from the folder or path name. Also give an option to see the path on the Album (or Artist) page so you can copy and paste the details into the right place from the path manually

Automatically re-sync music files with online databases
Where music files are tagged with a identifier for an online database (such as musicbrainz) the meta-data on the files versus what's in the live database diverge. It would be great to have bliss be able to periodically re-sync the files to the live database.

Use only the first track artist when using the "track artist" tag to rename files
When using the "track artist" tag to store featuring artists, bliss' file rename feature should have an option to only use the first track artist (main artist) to populate the filename.

Automatic mirroring of music libraries to different music file formats
While ripping lossless (to FLAC or some other codec) is always advised there are times when we need lossy music files.
One example is for portable players. Lossless files take up a LOT of space, so it's more efficient to play OGGs or MP3s or whatever.
In other cases, some music players simply don't work with certain codecs. iTunes doesn't play FLAC out-of-the-box, for instance.
This idea would add a rule to maintain multiple mirrors of your music library. Your current music library becomes the source. You then declare multiple extra libraries, with the desired music file format in each…

Being able to use the group metadata field as a variable in naming the files before track title.
Some albums - and I’d like to do it with more of them - use the ‘grouping’ metadata field for Piece titles such as Symphony no. 9, or String Quartet no. 14 in C major, etc, in the grouping field, with the individual movements alone as the track title. This means they are nicely presented in my music playing software. Some of the albums - and I’d like to do it with more of them - use the ‘grouping’ metadata field for Piece titles such as Symphony no. 9, or String Quartet no. 14 in C major, etc, in the…

Auto suggest album art based on file name or tags
For me as well as many others I would assume you end up with hundreds of mp3s that are missing or otherwise have a compilation album title. I would rather also see a list of album images from albums that contain the same (Title). Viewing that list with (Band - Album) names listed under it would greatly speed up finding custom images.

Saving "events per page" settings in Activity tab
Is it possible to have the "Events per page" setting saved. I always have to switch it from 12 to 96....it would be nice if once you changed this, the pgm would ask you if you'd like make this your default.

Implement genre import from Last.fm
Implement automatic genre import and assignement from Last.fm artist and track tags, allowing multiple genre and/or importing to other tag fields, with genre filters and genre translations (white lists, blacklists, prioritization)

Re: Album artist. Blissgives me no choice in determining what I prefer as a "compliant" entry.
Re: Alblum artist. Bliss defaults to the found alblum artist, but gives me no choice in determining if I want that as a "compliant" entry. For example; in the 1987 album Anything Goes, the "complaint" album artist enrty according to Bliss is "1987 Original Broadway Cast". But I would prefer "Various" or Various Artist. When I make that change with a tag editor, the album remains uncomplaint, but THAT is the way I would prefer it, so when I sort via artist in my preferred player, this album shows up correctly FOR me.

Make a war package available for easy deployment on qnap systems using tomcat
I've just installed the Subsonic 'war' package using tomcat on a qnap device and it was so easy. It would be great if Bliss was available as a 'war' package too.

Sonos ruleset
Sonos sound system requires the art work be of a certain pixel size and file size to display properly on an iPhone or iPad. An option to pre select this for bliss to conform to would be helpful. Other music systems could also have a preset "rulesets".

renaming files
I thought you would rename files based on artist/album - I change the data. Re-apply rules and you don't. For example I have 1-Spin_ (live).mp3 in dir Faith(Single). I see NONCOMPLIANT
"Spin (Live)" filename should be 'VariousArtists\Faith(Single)\1-Spin(Live).mp3' but was 'Faith(Single)\1-Spin(Live).mp3' But tag says artist is Lisa Hunter, album is Faith, song is Spin. What gives?2 votes -
Add ability to filter and print the activity log
After Bliss has completed its library scan, it would be good to be able to identify those albums which Bliss touched and, more importantly, which ones it didn't (or couldn't).
Being able to filter the activity log by "found non-compliant" or "modified" and then printing that filtered list would make it much easier to then go through and manually correct those albums

Username and password to access bliss
An admin user and password account is a must. Authorisation should be delivered via HTTP basic authentication at least.
Later (but this is not the subject of this idea), further accounts with read only and/or write access would be great. Access control could allow read/write access to certain things such as certain albums, artists etc. Some accounts would be able to reorganise certain things. This would be especially useful if future API functions are made available.

update multiple art changes for various artist albums at once
I have a box set of various artists -- bliss got something like 60 covers wrong, and it seems like I have to change them one at a time.

The ? condition should have an else option.
I generally use the ? to check if something exits, if true do this, if not do that.
Example
<discnumber>?(<discnumber>,1)<tracknumber:nn> so if i have multiple discs I get 101, 102, 201,202 etc.. and if is only one or not set I get 101,102, etc4 votes -
automatic search and replace of genres
With a look-up table, one could convert, for example, genres such as OBC, Broadway, Musicals, Original Cast, Cast Album and so forth all to the same, uniform genre (in this case, I might prefer to have them all tagged as Original Cast). This could also be used to reduce the number of genres. Yes, it reduces specificity but it might be nice to have all jazz listed as jazz, instead of "stride piano," "ragtime" "dixieland" "trad jazz" "modern jazz" "contemporary jazz" and so forth.

not to rescan all after adding a Genre
Each time I allow a new Genre to Bliss starts rescanning every single file.
Even if there is a good reason for that I suggest it does so only if requested.26 votes
