NO blog entry for the latest version 20190611
Hello, thank you for the latest release of wonderful bliss :)
Do you plan to add blog entry describing changes in latest version?
Thanks

Maybe some sort of CDN caching problem was preventing you seeing it?

allow scanning without it costing fixes
I am disappointed that each time I only want to scan for the non-compliances and not fix anything yet. However, bliss charges already for the scanning, so each time you rescan it costs fixes.
Or am I doing something wrong?1 voteThis is now done – all rules can be set to manual, so a scan can complete with no cost (in the event that something is non-compliant and has a fix).

previous version download
Hi Dan can not seem to find the older previous versions for download.
Are these still accessible somewhere ?
Wanting to drop back one version on the windows pc to see if same errors are been shown.rgds Ian
1 voteBy co-incidence, we will rename installers and begin installing them from the next version onwards.
The “vanilla” cross platform installer should work for you – for this get it from:
https://www.blisshq.com/downloads/bliss-install-20171212.jar
Change the version number and you should be able to go a few versions back.
Once downloaded, double click to start or on the command line:
java -jar bliss-install-20171212.jar

renewals should extend based on expiration date, not renewal date
I just purchased a renewal and noticed that my new expiration date is a year from when i purchased the renewal, not a year after my current license expires.
1 voteJust cleaning – up this was fixed back in 2017!

Automatic tag correction
I expected Bliss to fix missing tags automatically (genres, years, etc.). I have around 3,000 albums in my library, over 1,000 of which don't have a year. I was surprised that a scan didn't automatically fix this. Instead, I need to go to my "Inbox" and tell it to fix these, but only up to 96 at a time - that's over 100 clicks to fix them all (hardly automated). Can't Bliss be set to automatically fix anything you put in your criteria without so much manual intervention?

allow once click fix for all items. not limited to 96 visible on each page.
right now the "fix all visible" button doesn't seem to work (miught be a UI issue). Regardless I would like a button to fix all issues... not just the 96 visible on a page.

Fix year update with Artist update
Edit album. Update Artist name. Update year. Submit. Year does not take update. A second update is needed to change year.

link only one release
The quality of the linked release are pretty uneven on some of my albums, yes I can unlink the ones I don't like/want and keep the release I find useful. But a (maybe a two state button) simpler way would be much appreciated !
Thanks !

Bliss Docker Container
With the introduction of Docker to a number of NAS devices, in my case Sinology, it would be great to have a Docker Container to enable Bliss to run.

Auto Tag Cleaning: trim spaces, remove HTML encoding
Adding an option to clean the tags :
- Auto clean the spaces at the beginning and the end of a tag
- Identify tags with uf-8/Iso errors like instead of spaces or & instead of &, etc... and fix these.80 votesI finally got around to writing up the find-and-replace rule for this: https://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2019/02/13/find-replace-rule-fix-html-encoding/

A "Fix All Visible" button on each non-compliment album
Firstly, great program. Lovely interface and easy to use. Would be nice to have a "Fix All" button on the spin-down "Why?" button of non-compliant albums. The only issue with the "Fix All Visible" in the inbox is that if (like me) you are re-doing your entire album then you can't really risk going for it in-case a couple of the "fixes" are mismatches. etc.

Adding a reference to the folder the album files reside in
When bliss founds a noncompliant album, it would be useful to have a reference to the folder the files are stored in, since (especially in large collection of classical files) a file name like "Allegromanontroppo.flac" is not self-explicative, especially when metadata are of subpar quality and/or missing, while allowing to know that the file is in the folder - say - "BeethovenSymphonies_Karajan" would be of great help in identifying a suitable artwork.
1 voteThis has been available since we added the per-album tag editor – see https://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2018/03/01/release-20180301-album-tags/
In the next beta the ability to copy/paste file and folder names will also be available.

Enable bliss to read embedded art that is >7MB in size
bliss is unable to read such files and hence the files show as non compliant and it can't downsample the image to fix the problem
1 voteFor now, the solution is to assign more memory to bliss as per https://www.blisshq.com/support/faq/general/assign-more-memory.html

COMPILATION token
This is not really a new idea. It's what I believe is a simpler way to implement the idea already presented by others regarding how to organize compilations. Adding this as a comment on all those threads probably would have come across as a bit annoying.
Some folks put compilations (and other special case releases) into separate folders and then use the ability to create multiple rulesets for those folders. This is great if you WANT to seperate these items, but it shouldn't be a REQUIREMENT. I prefer wide over deep where folder/file structure is concerned.
The COMPILATION (all caps…

Make placeholders on album pages the same size as the art
I like my art to be displayed in a tidy grid. This is how it would be if I had art for every album. At present the grid is distorted by the placeholders which do not occupy the same size space as the art. The result is variable vertical displacement of the art and loss of alphabetical sequence. The more placeholders there are the worse it is.

Folder watch
When a folder change is detected, it rescans all albums. Is it possible to only scan the "changes" it sensed? It seems unnecessarily resource intensive to rescan each album for one new addition.
2 votesAssume this was already fixed – it should definitely work like this.

that the <disknumber> allows for the use of :nn in the same way that <tracknumber> does
Please can you add the same functionality to <disknumber> that <tracknumber> already uses ?
So that <disknumber> allows for the use of :nn
It might seem a little OCD, but i like my Disk_xx folder to all be 2 digits, and without the :nn - I'll have re-tag all the files
