Automatic tag correction
I expected Bliss to fix missing tags automatically (genres, years, etc.). I have around 3,000 albums in my library, over 1,000 of which don't have a year. I was surprised that a scan didn't automatically fix this. Instead, I need to go to my "Inbox" and tell it to fix these, but only up to 96 at a time - that's over 100 clicks to fix them all (hardly automated). Can't Bliss be set to automatically fix anything you put in your criteria without so much manual intervention?
This has now been released: https://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2019/03/19/release-20190313-automatic-tag-accuracy/

Thanks Jonathan. The past month or so has seen a lot of work on the "engine" that runs the rules in bliss, to make it easier to automate rules. Before, automation was done on a per rule basis. Now it's a lot simpler and in some cases as simple as adding a couple of lines of code.
Building on that, the new build just gone to beta has the maximum data size and (as you mentioned) the case rules automated.
I'll be implementing the other automations generally in popularity (vote count) order.

A bit late to the party on this thread, but was just referenced it in the same question I posted to the support E-mail... so here I am.
I completely agree with Andrew on this. I absolutely LOVE the direction that Bliss is going, however, it requires too much intervention to be a valid solution in my opinion. The software is great, do not misinterpret what I'm reporting... I'm just wishing ti could be completely defined to be 100% fully automated if that's what the operator so chooses.
I understand that having a fully automated solution can absolutely have the potential to introduce discrepancies (especially in the case of automated file deletion), but I do believe that there should be an option to have the software go ahead and act on rules defined by the user.
I did receive the response in E-mail that automatic capitalization fixes will be introduced in the next version, which is great... BUT, the software should handle ALL instances with this same level of automation (i.e. cover image not in the correct format, automatically force it through the conversion as defined by rules, instead of having the user click the little button in the "inbox" tab).
The software has absolutely beautified my massive collection with album art embedded into tracks, which it was able to do fully automated, so I'm not really complaining. I would just like to see that full set of automation applied to every single rule available (should the operator choose to accept whatever risks are associated with it).
The software is great, would be nice to see it become outstanding! *Keep up the good work.

As stated, for tag *completion* this should work with the "autopopulate" checkbox. If it doesn't it's a bug.
Can you confirm this is with the missing information rule, or the accuracy rule?

I have the same issue -- thousands of albums with hundreds (or thousands) of findings. Need a way to set Bliss to auto populate for all fields. I know there may be some errors, but provided that Bliss is tracking the changes, those corner-cases should be easy to restore after the fact. For now, I'm left with a powerful tool that requires >1,000 mouse clicks to update my media library. That's a non-starter.

@Mike you mentioned missing genre in the other thread - that should be automatable, there's a checkbox next to "Fill in missing" "Genre" for "Autopopulate".

same suggestion larger library all tags should automatically fix at one time maybe a button on inbox to fix all missing/incorrect/wrong case -- I am attempting to ready my collection for load into Bluesound Vault2 and NAS

@Joe Year, genre and disc number should already be automate-able... send an email to support if that isn't working.

Yes, populating the year tag should definitely be automated!

So the way I expect to implement this is similar to http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/5746094-tag-correction , only instead of changing an existing tag, the tag is populated. Each album gains the ability to be linked to an online record of the release.
That way, we could also implement http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/1043507-realtime-album-info (three features for the price of one... almost).

Good for me! Thanks for the reply.

Thanks. You're right, only certain things can be automated, and these can be seen from the settings page.
Automation of the filling in of tags is very much in my sights. Just like http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/5746094-tag-correction but for tag completion.
Shall we change this to "Automatic tag completion" and then if you have a requirement for other items to be automated we can add them as separate ideas?

Sorry, over 10 clicks! But you get my point. If it's scanning for compliance and fixing and embedding album art as it goes, why can't it apply all the other fixes for me to (tags, reducing artwork filesize, et al)?
