    TL;DR: We’ve just pushed the first tranche of code to implement ignoring-compliance. This is preliminary backend work – there’s no button yet to click so this “just works”. That’s the next step.

    Working with rulesets in mind (https://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2017/08/01/ruleset-selecta/) bliss is now capable of finding extra settings files in its settings directory with the extension .settings.

    If an entry in the file of the form:

    albumSelector=_.name.equals(“Scott 4”)

    This means bliss will attempt to match the album to the selector on the right-hand side of the equals. If it matches, the rules defined in this settings file are used.

    This is hopefully pretty powerful functionality – it means we can soon setup different rules for different types of albums (not just the ignoring-compliance use case, which I always saw as a special case of rulesets).

    There’s no UI for this yet – it only works on the basis of files.…

    Adding a vote for this. One example is "Remastered" albums. I have "Abbey Road" album as well as "Abbey Road - Remastered" album, and I'd like to keep both, but the "Remastered" gets caught on the Title Check. I don't want to have to unlink all linked releases every time I rescan my library. I'd rather mark the Remastered album as "Ignore" or "Exempt" or something (even if I have to re-ignore it again after rescanning...that's ok.) .

    I think I figured out the difference maker. I think you first have to have 2 disks with separate titles ("Liverpool Oratorio CD1" - Classical genre, and "Liverpool Oratorio CD1" - Opera genre), each with different genres and no Album Artist. Combine album by renaming to "Liverpool Oratorio", and then notice that genre is either Classical or Opera. Edit album, change to correct genre. Change does not reflect after save. Add Album Artists to each track, and save. Notice that genre is now changed to what you intended. I recreated this, and will email you the debug archive I took right after. Very edge case with easy work around. No need to fix for me...just through you might find it interesting.

    I agree it's a strange case. Yes, I'll recreate and send logs. I've been able to redo it many times. The steps are: 1) Edit genre on album with 1+ "Album Artist" missing, then save. 2) Note that genre does not change when saved. 3) Edit tags for album, filling in each "Album Artist" field, then save. 4) Note that genre is now correctly reflected to the change from step 1, without additional edit or save.

    I'd love a "delete files from file system and remove from bliss" option. As I'm going through my huge list of albums I find myself wondering why I've been keeping many of the albums, and just want to delete completely. Instead, I'm switching to file browser, removing, and then rescanning bliss to get rid of the "empty" album entry.
