An error occurred while saving the comment This is a really good idea. It's an example of generalising the music library selection. As well as adding extra folders, one could simply set the contents of a playlist.

An error occurred while saving the comment So, if the mouse pointer is hovering over the albums, maybe none of the albums should be updated? Would that work?
As I stated in the other idea, remember you can simply click the 'back' button to get back to the previous list rather than clicking 'Albums' again.

An error occurred while saving the comment Well, I'm no ReadyNAS expert so I don't know the process for developing an add-on.
You could start with the basic Linux installer and first of all get it installing. This requires you install a Java runtime. It's best if this is Java 6.
Once that's done, try running bliss and progressively fix stuff. My guess is that two things will break: 1) the file system event listener, 2) the audio fingerprinter. You can read about doing this for Synology (also ARM) here: http://pcloadletter.co.uk/2012/09/17/bliss-package-for-synology/
Then you need a way of packaging it all together so the add-on installs with one click.

An error occurred while saving the comment What would the expectation be regarding automatic and semi automatic fixes? Should only automatic fixes (e.g. cover art) be executed?
You could simply run bliss and the new albums will be picked up. Knowing when to send a kill signal would be more difficult.

An error occurred while saving the comment Are these really separate albums with different titles (e.g. disc numbers), or are they varying by artist? If the former, wouldn't you rather combine the albums rather than delete?

An error occurred while saving the comment If you click the pencil icon for the album it should show the reason next to a red 'X' mark. Alternatively, on the album overview, click 'why?' for the album in question and the same 'X' mark should be there.

An error occurred while saving the comment As you know there's http://bliss:3221/tagindex which returns the indexes of tags that bliss keeps, and http://bliss:3221/musicmodel that returns compliance. These aren't "API" though, they're really just debugging aids and might be withdrawn in future.
So I'll change the title/text to reflect the requirement for integration.
An error occurred while saving the comment I definitely will not move to MySQL.
The main reason is that developing against MySQL will introduce a lot of complexities in the way bliss is written. In addition, at runtime I suspect it will actually be slower than the current technology that bliss uses to store its data - https://github.com/jankotek/mapdb (actually an earlier version) although I haven't tested this. Writing the code to store to MySQL would just take too long.
Second, it would be better for bliss to expose an API that allows it to be integrated with other applications. Using the database is fraught because any changes to the database structure breaks the integration.
I suspect (although I might be wrong) that what you want is an API for integrating. If that is the case can we change the title of the idea?

An error occurred while saving the comment Yeah, currently bliss runs the same number of parallel actions regardless of the system. In most cases this makes for improved throughput because online lookup etc is IO bound and work can proceed in other areas while a lookup is ongoing.
I don't like recommending this necessarily, but one thing to try out when running bliss is to temporarily disable anti virus during a long scan, if running.

You can also change the genre by clicking on it in the album detail page.

An error occurred while saving the comment Sorry, that hint is out of date (I noticed this the other day; the next release will improve the text).
What happens is that, if the information is missing, bliss will look for it online. If 'autopopulate' is checked bliss will fill it in automatically. If not, bliss will present a one click fix ("Set to Pop/Rock" or whatever).

I invite any XBMC enthusiasts to get in touch and I'll gladly help with the integration. I've done similar things with NAS enthusiasts e.g. Synology, ReadyNAS etc.

About the other tags, please create other ideas for them, or vote for equivalents. I try to keep all the ideas 'atomic' so it's easy to realise when they are completed. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMART_criteria

Nice idea. As you've noticed, bliss does not use existing iTunes artwork that isn't already embedded. You can embed artwork in iTunes if you use OS X using something like http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=embedart
