Album name starting with "..." shows up where it shouldn't
An album titled "...Well" showed up at the top of the list of non-compliant albums for every choice in the "starts with" dropdown (ie. it showed up for "a", "b", "0-9", etc.). Once I found a cover for it (manually), the problem went away

Artist Sort Name
What about creating and using "Artist Sort Name" as a variable to rename music files?
So, instead of having the folder "The Beatles" I can have the folder "Beatles, The"

Newest version now working
Dan, I read the help stuff and saw that the new version needed a complete re-install, not an update so I deleted the old version, downloaded the new one and it's running. Might be worth adding a note about this on the download / update. Anyway, it looks to be running very quickly.

Latest version not working
Hi Dan, I've just installed the latest version on my MacBook Air. It says that it has started scanning my music library but after a few minutes seems to stop. No list of artists or albums appears. Tried deleting and re-adding the music folder locations, re-started the program, re-started the computer, still won't run. The USB drive with my music is directly plugged into the Mac. Any clues?
Thanks

Bug: "Use" button does not work in "Cover Art Alternatives" view
When working in the "Cover art alternatives" view everything seems great, with alternative art being displayed.
But when clicking on a "Use" button the button turns grey and remains so forever. The cover art does not get downloaded.
This is the case every time even if I stop the Bliss web server from the task bar and then start it again. If I click on the cover art picture to preview it, it shows correctly in a new tab. But pressing the "Use" button is useless.
Opening an album from the "Album overview" view and then pressing the "Use" button…
1 voteJust to let you know, this is fixed in the latest release: http://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2015/06/02/new-release-20150522/index.html . The spinner updates to say whether the change was successful or not, and the existing artwork on the left of the row will update.

New version works really nicely; much quicker than previous.
Running on a MacBook Air with a 1TB Western Digital Passport drive for with > 200GB of music.
1 voteThanks. If this was just the one previous version that was slow, it may be because in the rush to support Yosemite we let slip a previous fix to disable App Nap. Anyway, it’s there now!

BUG FIX? Somehow names that are correctly spelled with multiple capitals are corrupted.
So, for example, "McLachlan" somehow gets munged to "Mlachlan".
1 voteThis was previously fixed (see comments).

I have a problem
The installation only allows me to choose folders on PC but all my music files are stored on a network: on \Rs5server\Music.
1 votePlease see http://www.blisshq.com/support/faq/install-first-use/networked-music-collection.html . You can use the UNC path (\\Rs5server\Music) in the music folder location field. Alternatively, ‘map’ that to a drive and use the drive.

[Artist consolidation] Strip whitespace from artist names
Part of the artist consolidation rule should be to trim whitespace (tabs, spaces etc) from the start and end of the artist name.
1 voteThis has been implemented by the trim whitespace rule: https://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2015/09/01/new-release-20150825-trim-rules/

Allow a manual retry for failed cover art installs
Sometimes the reasons for a failed download can be transient (e.g. temporary problem with a remote server). Add a 'retry' option to failed installs to tell bliss to try downloading again.
1 voteThis has actually been completed with the new ‘rescan’ feature for albums. Rescan re-assesses and retries any fixes.

Make placeholders on album pages the same size as the art
I like my art to be displayed in a tidy grid. This is how it would be if I had art for every album. At present the grid is distorted by the placeholders which do not occupy the same size space as the art. The result is variable vertical displacement of the art and loss of alphabetical sequence. The more placeholders there are the worse it is.
