Duplicate photo eliminator for Mac OS folders
While I use photo programs, I do not trust them for storage of my original photos. As a result, I have 120,000 photos stored in 1500 folders that I created with unique names such as “2018 Florida Vacation” stored on my Mac OS. There are unfortunately duplicate photos with differing file names and the creation dates are not common. I’d like the ability to find and eliminate these as MacOS files, not in some photo program.

Can I suggest you look for “photo duplicate finder” on Google?

Add iTunes (CDDB) as another source for high-resolution album art
I’ve been using a site that facilitates manual searching and downloading of the latest standard (e.g., 600 x 600) and high-res (e.g., 3000 x 3000, 1MB) album covers iTunes/Apple. This generally works well in terms of obtaining standardised high-res covers that can then be resized, but it’s labor intensive So, I was wondering if it is possible to include something more automated in Bliss that utilises this particular database?
1 votebliss already uses FreeDB, the successor to CDDB.
As far as I know, iTunes uses something more like Gracenote (which also has some sort of lineage traced to CDDB) which costs too much money (I’ve looked into it before). But thanks – other suggestions of sources are welcome.

Automatically take first image from google search.
I have over 1,000 albums without images. Bliss takes a long time to upload one. I would like to see a rule to automatically google the album and select the first image it finds.
1 voteThanks – bliss used to do this – unfortunately we had to remove it because running automated tasks against Google search is against their Terms of Service.
So we can’t re-implement it.

one album, different versions, accept the manual assigned link
One album, different songs are listed on diff IN Sides.
If I search the correct link, set the Link to this side as only one, change the DB in the Tabs and press Save, the Album pop up again with an error, because the linked Internetside was changed once again. In this case is like roulette, if the album is accepted as correct or not1 voteLet’s discuss this on email (we are already doing so) – this sounds like a bug.

Make license topics more transparent
I was surprised to see a "your license is about to expire" warning on the top of my screen recently (unlimited customer since 02/2016, according to https://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2016/09/06/change-licencing/ I should not be seeing that in the first place).
I paid anyway, but I have some suggestions:
- put the current license expiry date into the header
- make sure extensions bought actually extend from the expiry date instead of buying one year from now
1 voteI’ve thought this through and I’ve decided not to do this (the addition to the footer – extending the period from the expiry date was done separately).
The current expiry date is already shown on the licence page.
There should be warnings that pop up in the last month of the date.
Finally the expiry date being shown always adds to clutter, which is something I’m trying to reduce. I’m not convinced this needs to be constantly shown.

synology miminum java revision required
Is there anyway of diplaying a java error indicator- red for issues & green if ok . This would be easilly seen within bliss to state if there is a wrong java revision running that is not supported. Useful to know when various updates take place. Also still not sure what revision it should or should'nt be running with current bliss version. Any feedback appreciated.
rgds Ian1 voteThis is quite a lot of work for a small advantage – this shouldn’t happen often. If you update the Java package in Synology it’s most likely that it will be a more recent version, and bliss should be forward compatible with future Java versions.
We’d have to bake this into the Synology UI (because such issues generally mean bliss won’t even start) and that would be a lot more work too.
If Synology had a way of defining dependencies that would be best.

Look for cover art in jpg call 'Folder'
Have other application on board one of which inserts cover art automatically with image named 'Folder'.
So I renae Folder to 'cover' and rescan. Works.
Could it be automated?

Need updated 2018 step by step instructions on how to fix SONOS Album art please
Sonos album art is still missing. The 2011 instructions seem to be outdated.

Pricing
Before I downloaded the app, I figured I'd pay up to $25 for a license. I would guess you could try a sale or something to see if it changes quantity of your sales. Useful as it may be, with all the free options out there--MusicBrain, beets--I will not pay $80 for convenience.

click on item to set genres
1) integratinng meaningful genres for 1500 albums is a mess with bliss. On my atom driven synologiy running bliss is deadly slow.
2) guesses are often pure random. Karajan is supposed to be classic! Some background information should be provided.
3) Proably the inbox view is best for updating information. Artist display is missing, just title of album is shown.
4) the dropbox to set genre takes too much time for scrolling. Just provide the genres listed in the rule and make them clickable to set
appropriate genres.
5) Once an album is classified for an artists, this artist should…1 votePlease reopen as separate items – please see my comment!

A pause button?
Can we have a pause button on the Mac version. (Or if there is one I sure can't find it).
I have bliss running on an old Mac mini doing a bit of server stuff, SABNZBD, Sonarr, etc. Man, when Bliss gets going, wow, you are using all the processor. Sometimes I kill the program when all I want to do is pause it for a second.

More of a question on cataloging and with some idea
I've always wanted to put all my music together. I also decided it would be nice to rip my CD's first as flac files then to MP3 and ? for itunes .
For the job I am using an acronova nimbie for batch ripping and DBpoweramp for software. (it's not pwerfect but in a pricxe range I could afford.

You should...
.. take this to every car manufacturer that has a built in audio system. This is the first piece of software for embedding images I have come across that is a pleasure to use. The fact that it is a java "service" means you could offer this to any one with a music catalogue. The rules section is cool. You could try having "vendor" specific rules. For example, on my Mercedes GLA, the maximum image size is 500x500...
Also, it can handle ACC but not Apple Lossless..

Album art from last.fm
User last.fm (with user OAUTH API if needed) to pull cover art. When bliss can't find a cover art match, I go to last.fm and always find the art work needed...

Album art
The system often doesn't find album art when a certain size is set. You can easily program a script that uses the 'search in Google' function through the Google api. It will search the image database for similar images. You can then program a function to pick the nearest image from that list. This is the easiest method to automate image searches.

Get albaum art from more services
Automatically find album art from services like Google and Musicbrainz ect.
1 voteI’m declining this, not because it’s not valid (obviously it’s always good to add more album art sources) but because MB is already used and Google cannot be used due to their changes in terms of service. If you have other sources you’d like us to use, please post new ideas for them.
