Ability to work on files folders on a NAS
Don't seem to be able to direct the Music Location to use a folder / files on a NAS, as this is where I now keep my music its absence makes Bliss of very limited use to me.
Or is there some way to do it that i haven't figured out.1 voteUnless there’s some strange edge condition I don’t know of, it’s definitely possible to use a NAS. Many users of bliss use NASes and some even install bliss on the NAS! Please see http://www.blisshq.com/support/faq/install-first-use/networked-music-collection.html

Scheduled auto start/stop for NAS devices
I use Bliss on a Synology NAS device, It works well, but It's eating a lot of CPU and RAM (ATM : CPU : 99% RAM: 72%).
It would be nice to have an option to run Bliss only at a scheduled time (late at night is a good example).
Regards.1 voteI’ve had a think about this and I think that this should be the responsibility of the OS. So use cron, or whatever is the right tool for your system.

Hi Toon. Thanks for your other emails on this subject, I need more detail and you have provided this in the form of a debug archive. I’ll be looking at this as soon as I can and responding by email. As this idea is not measurable as to when complete, I’m going to close this idea, but I’ll be in touch via email.

Sorry, I’ll have to close this as it’s a duplicate. Please vote for http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/1040863-album-art-for-aiff ! (By pooling the votes this also makes it more likely to be implemented!)

getting your sh** together, what the hell...
I chose not to have shortcuts... so now I cannot find this app... That is too retarded man, too retarded. you have me uber paranoid that I just downloaded some crap to take all my info.
1 voteI’ll have to decline this because all of these ideas should be SMART (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMART_criteria) and it’s not really measurable when one’s shit is “got together”.
To start bliss without a Desktop shortcut… It depends on which OS you use, but assuming Windows click the Windows/Start button > Programs > bliss > Start bliss. The uninstaller is in the same place.

need to stop (accessing from NAS & taking longer than I have at moment)
stop indexing option
1 voteThanks for this… but there already is the ‘pause’ button which stops bliss listening for file notifications and stops any ongoing assessments. Note that it may take a few moments for the pause to complete. If this isn’t working let me know by email and include a debug archive: http://www.blisshq.com/support/faq/general/how-create-debug-archive.html

Revise stability
Hello,
The latest update (s?) of Bliss have totally destabilized its function on my Readynas platform. It won't stop scanning, will stop adding albums short of thousands of them, will stall and need restart.
It has become unusable.1 voteBernard – please get in touch by email. Send the debug archive (‘Help’ then ‘Download debug archive’), if it can be generated.
I’m closing this because stability is a pre-requisite; it’s more important than new ideas. Fixing the problem is best done over email where further information can be exchanged, so do get in touch. But I will work on it, with you.

Add Amazon as a source for Album Art
Other programs i've used allow you to grab album art from Amazon.com as a source.
1 voteThanks for posting this but unfortunately Amazon changed their Terms of Service which meant bliss could no longer use it.
bliss did originally use Amazon, but I don’t want to anger the powers that be.

adding additional tags like mediasource, composer, label, etc...
Can bliss have rules for additional tagging like:
- mediasource (CD, iTunes, Linn, SACD, HDtracks, etc...);
- composer (Bach, Beethoven, etc...);
- Label (Sony music, Linn records, Stockfish, etc....)
and other common tags?1 voteThis idea is valid, but I like all of the ideas to be SMART (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMART_criteria). Therefore it’s best to have separate ideas for each idea, if they don’t already exist. Please create separate ideas for those features you most want to see.

Well really it diden't help
It diden't really help it and my music is really well sorted as i'm sure you could see ... but still it found less to none to what i expected really ... sorry guys this actually sucks
1 voteThanks for your feedback, but I can only really measure the implementation of specific feedback. If there’s something you suspect isn’t working email bliss@blisshq.com. Thanks anyway.

Bliss Goes back to Basics
I have tried to use Bliss twice with no success. My files are totally messed up. It takes me 10 times longer to organize my music. Hours of manual fixing the Bliss mess. I don't think this is a product ready for prime time.
1 voteI have to close the idea because I require all ideas to be measurable, i.e. understandable when they are ‘done’. “Back to basics” isn’t really measurable because it isn’t specific as to what should be done.
Also, let’s discuss this bug via email where I can get more diagnostic information.

make it something easy to install, able to use
1 voteSorry but I need more specific information about what went wrong or new ideas to improve bliss. If you have a new idea please post it in a new idea thread, if you have a problem please get in touch with bliss@blisshq.com

more cover sources
i know it might be wrong to mention other sources... but Album Art Downloader XUI which is freeware has a load of soruces for art... it can even get it from itunes and country spec stores...
at least i would say worth a look if not for ideas...
1 voteThanks for this Bo. I agree with your point. However, I try to ensure all the ideas here are measurable so I know when they are done. This idea isn’t measurable because there are always more cover sources. Instead, if you have an idea for a source that you’d like to see included, please add it as a separate idea.

Faster and working i.e. no Java
had java exception, can't upload artwork, very slow, next time I'll bring a cut lunch to the desk. Very interesting program , wish you well
1 voteThanks for the suggestion and feedback, unfortunately there’s no way I’d be able to switch bliss away from the Java platform. This is mainly due to programming resources – I’m but one developer and would have to maintain far more code for each different OS supported.
Please sent me your debug.zip (as described here: http://www.blisshq.com/support/reporting-problems.html ) to diagnose the Java exception

Saving an image file in the album directory should be optional
At the moment, if a directory/folder contains only an album then bliss always saves an art image file in it.
This should be optional.
1 voteDuplicate of http://bliss.uservoice.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/1608043-enforce-zero-one-or-many-separate-cover-art-files?ref=title which is also a more powerful generalisation.

Getting error applying new settings
After applying settings on large music selection after initial scan, I am getting Failed to initialise secondary index: JdbmMusicModel Changes have not been made. (show details).
0 votesThis sounds like a flat bug which I’d like to fix immediately, so please get in contact as per: http://www.blisshq.com/support/reporting-problems.html
Marking as “declined” because this isn’t an idea to look at over the long term.
