Welcome to our official feedback forum. Do you have an idea? We really want to hear from you!

  1. Replacement for updating ripped CDs directly in beomaster 5

Pretty well as above and per my email.
There is no support from B&O for this that I am aware of.

A software patch to replace the existing (now defunct) code with Bliss would be popular , I guess and additionally get you continual sales of 'fixes'.

Also i would offer an annual limited or unlimited subscription to your customers, rather than the current unlimited option which limits your income to one offs.

Subscription software for HNW B&O owners will not be noticed and potentially carry on for years.

  2. If bliss finds playlist files (*.m3u, ...) Playlist based Rules -> see Details

Rule to move them to specific path
Rule to update them if needed because other rules changes something
-> like renames or move files
*Rule to General try to fix them (search best matching files in bliss and correct the playlist file entry to the found file) -> this should be made manually but bliss can suggest the entry

  3. Automatic cover

It would be nice if added files got deleted cover automatically and then inserted new cover.
It is not always that purchased music has a good cover.
Bliss almost always finds better cover.
But bliss just doesn't delete the cover automatic and insert a new cover.
You have to do this manually

  4. Is there a quick way to check if a particular CD is compliant?

Some sort of search or filter on the CD name, or a keyword included in the title?

System is brilliant, but once you have edited a CD, you have to go back to see if you got it right, and I'm a bit lazy...

  5. Better artwork discriminators

When bliss searches for suitable album art, it frequently comes back with a half-dozen or more options, with no obvious way to tell which one is "best." I usually try to pick the best color balance, or the sharpest edges (which in my own mind I equate to "better resolution").

I'd like to know the size of the images in ppi and x by y to help me make the best choice.

  6. Extract embedded artwork

I have roughly 100 albums that bliss identifies as having no "folder.jpg" present. Many of the albums (if not all of them) do have artwork embedded in the tracks.

It would be nice if the embedded artwork were one of the choices available to populate the folder.jpg file.

  7. Use typographer's quotes wherever quotation punctuation appears

This may be because I’ve used a Mac, forever, but I like to use typographer’s quotes (“” ‘’) instead of their ASCII equivalents ("" '')

  8. Consistent medley formatting

On live albums, frequently multiple "songs" are preformed/recorded as one track. They frequently get titled with "/" separating the individual tunes:

"Goin' All the Way / Glendora"

In the handful of albums I've reconciled, so far, whitespace around the "/" appears to be haphazard, at best. I don't care strongly whether there is whitespace involved, or not, but I'd sure like it to be consistent. (I slightly prefer with whitespace)

  9. Album with "+" in its title fails to load

I have an album entitled "7+ Inches of Love" and when I try to edit it, a page loads with tons of placeholder content, which never updates. Here is the URL:

    http://mini-server.local:3220/album/The+Apemen/7%2B+Inches+of+Love?startAt=24&page=.*&albumsCount=12&complianceState=all

Going back, and selecting a different album appears to work properly

  10. Capitalization after apostrophe

I thought some of the capitalization fixes for words with apostrophes in them looked odd. For example:

"C'mon Jenny" as corrected to "C'Mon Jenny"

I did a little research (because, hey, I could be wrong) and came up with this well written, documented, description of capitalization rules for sentence case:

    https://english.stackexchange.com/a/321096

I'd be happier if Bliss used these rules.

  11. Provide more context when correcting artist name

I'm looking at the suggested corrections for some artist names in a compilation. The tooltip shows some information, but not really enough to make a good decision. Two examples:

Set ARTIST in 1-15 C.I.D.m4a to "Uk Subs"
(as mentioned in a separate request, "Uk" should probably be "UK". In my metadata, it probably is)

Set ARTIST in 5-04 Damaged Goods.m4a to "Gang of Four"
(You're probably fixing title case by lowercasing "of," but maybe it's the wrong band altogether. I'd like to know what I'm changing from.

And while I'm here, the tooltip is a slow mechanism to see these…

  12. Prefer my metadata

There are some albums where the catalog metadata is wrong. My guess is you have no ability to send fixes upstream.

I'd like the ability to say "No, this is the correct spelling for this album," and have Bliss consider my data correct.

  13. Exclusions for common abbreviations in case rules

I'd like to exclude some common two and three letter, all-caps terms, such as: US, USA, UK, TV.

In fact, except for US, all of my examples could be simplified to "If it's not a word in the dictionary, don't apply character case rules."

  14. Retry attempt to fix X times

I often recive a failore during fixing attempts, due to lacking 'permission'. In fact, it is because another process, like syncthing, just scans the file, a second later it can be fixed. Would be nice if I could set an option like "retry three times, pause 5 seconds".

  15. Batch up corrections for an album

Please allow me to "batch up" a series of corrections for a single album. While the "immediate action" buttons are useful in some cases, the cost of "reassessing" the album after each time becomes incredibly annoying if a given album has numerous errors that need fixing. In this case it would be vastly preferable to be able to add each fix to some kind of queue, then hit a single "fix these items" button that fixes them all at once, only incurring the cost of reassessing the album once.

  17. More options for Cover art max data size

Maximum cover art data size only has these options with a max of 1MB:

    64 KB
    128 KB
    256 KB
    320 KB
    512 KB
    1 MB

Can we up this limit, adding options in increments of 0.5 MB (i.e. 1,5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, etc.) perhaps up to a maximum of 5 or 10 MB?

My reason for asking is most of my new music is purchased downloads from iTunes, which up until recently have had art of around 200-700kb, but in the last two weeks, my recent new purchases have been between 1 and 2.3 MB.

    With digital storage getting…

  18. Move the compliant mp3 to a specific directory.

It would be interesting to be able to distinguish between "compliant" and "non-compliant" files in different directories. I use an external application to read and classify my MP3s. I only move my MP3s to the folder managed by this application when I am sure the tags are OK. I would like to be able to quickly move the validated files to my music library to give me time to process the remaining files with bliss. Another solution would be to be able to access an API to easily find compliant files and move them independently of non-compliant files.

  19. Option to ignore songs -with similar acoustic fingerprint, but different disc number- as duplicates

Some Deluxe albums have extra discs with special recordings (live recordings, earlier versions, or remixes) that get flagged as duplicates because of having similar acoustic fingerprints.

  20. More consistency amongst soundtrack album naming

Songtrack album names are all over the place. Some prefer to have OST, O.S.T., Soundtrack, Original Soundtrack, or nothing at all after the name of the film/show. This should be more consistent
