  1. Support for RIFF tags in WAVs

WAVs can generally adopt two approaches for tagging: RIFF INFO (which is native) or ID3 (bolted on, but for some functionality such as album art better supported by music software).

bliss only writes ID3s currently. The trouble is, some software only reads RIFF tags.

Example software, able to read RIFF but unable to read ID3 tags:
    - Emby
    - Windows Explorer

  3. Individual rulesets for different genres

Ie (genre = soundtrack) has a different naming and path structure
Same for Classical or eventually compilations...

For a similar idea for root folders see http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/5490000-individual-rulesets-for-different-locations

    For compilations, see http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/1760321-add-setting-for-compilation-directory-name-seems

  6. Ability to show number of songs scanned

It would be nice for people that have a lot of singles in their music collection to be able to see the number of individual songs scanned in addition to total albums scanned. The use of the words compliant and non-compliant is also a bit confusing, but so is running the app in a browser window on a high port. :)

  7. Page Print

Would be nice if you were able to print off the collection but in IE Edge Chrome or Firefox the previews do not show the images so you have a broken print view.

It would be nice to have a hard copy of the music collection for reference

  8. Provide a means of identifying different albums with the same name

I have albums by Billy Idol, Fleetwood Mac, Sly & the Family Stone, and Tom Petty. They are all correctly titled "Greatest Hits". Bliss does not seem to have a provision for correctly handling this situation

  9. Cover art naming either cover or folder, not both of them in the same file.

Cover art naming either cover or folder, not both of them in the same file.

I’ve set a rule adding cover art that says "Save an image artwork file to cover and folder. Artwork should be embedded.” How can I change 'cover art and folder' to 'cover art or folder', depending of the already present file name?

    Bliss Support sent following answer:
    Hello Michel,

Unfortunately there is no such option at the moment. Could you please take some of your time to post that idea on our forum along with the comments?

  10. Cannot update genre without Album Artist present

If Album Artist entry or entries are not present on tracks of an album, I cannot update the Genre. Once I add the Album Artist however, the change to Genre takes effect.

  13. Album Folder Browse Function To Use Windows Explorer

A suggestion I would make is to change the album folder browse function to a standard Windows explorer pop-up to search for folder.

I have several mapped drives and the browse function only shows drive letters and can be difficult to search through in a small window.

  14. Per-album "actions"

Having collection wide consistency, defined by rules, is great. But sometimes I just have one or two albums I want to do something to and I don't want to have to change the entire collection at the same time.

For example, if I currently do not have a file organisation rule, but add two folders of music from the same release (different discs). These are incorrectly tagged with different album names.

I can use the correctness rules to bring these in line, but the file and folder locations are wrong.

I'd like to have an "action" I can execute for…

  15. "Add a folder" shortcut

Currently new folders can be added by:

    • [it will happen automatically if "Listen for file changes..." is enabled]
    • "Rescan for new and changed music files"
    • "Clear and rescan"
    • If it's a separate folder to the existing music library, adding it as a new folder in the settings page.

If you don't want listening enabled, the trouble with the second two is the length of time they take for a large library.

It would be nice to directly add a folder of music files.

  16. Allow rules with boolean and simple text manipulation(truncation, concatenation, insertion of delimiters in text strings, See below:

All the keys containing malleable text should be able to be manipulated. For instance I use merged keys - artist key: Director(if there is one): performing entities delineated with commas; Soloist. Also would be nice to assign the instrument the soloist is using delineated by(). This would greatly automate consistency. I have used iTunes for a long time. For classical music I configure manually the Album title space with several keys: Last name of Composer or Performing group name: Either album title or the form of the piece,e.g., Cantata, trio etc: subpart of piece 1. andante in e-flat major,e.g. I…

  18. Creation of an online User-forum

Creation of an online User-forum to log issues so everybody can see what already is been in reported, I is a lot of work to trace and report product issues, that why people can save time and efforts if one can see if the issue encountered it already reported. To discuss potential workarounds and to assist fellow users, to openly discuss potential product/user ideas for future releases etc

  19. Error/Warning Message when file access problems.

Happens to often under Windows that BLISS has read but no write access, when that happens it seems to copy the file and creates automatically duplicates. It would be helpful to get a Notification rather then doing the copying and creating duplicates.

  20. Slightly more install information for linux

I'm a fairly proficient unix and macOS user now using linux. I would appreciate some more information about installing bliss on linux. For instance, on the existing page it says install with 'java -jar bliss-install-20190130.jar'. Should I do this as root or as a non-root user? When I do it as root bliss works and does not show errors. When I do it as a regular user I see lots of java errors at the command line.
