It can't seem to find my music folder on its HD. It only looks in the default Itunes folder but it wont let me redirect.

What is the folder you are looking for? Normally, under OS X, any networked folders will be under /Volumes .
You can find the location of your iTunes media folder by following this: http://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT1391 see "Find and change the iTunes Media folder location".
