Rule to allow/convert different image formats
I have several albums for which bliss inserted a cover.gif file in the album directory. What I want is only cover.jpg files, not gif files.
Examples:
artist = Stephen Gately, album = New Beginnings
artist = The New Tradition Chorus, album = Broadway
artist = Grandma's Boys, album = When the Toy Soldiers Marched on Parade...
artist = Platinum, album = Auld Lang Syne
artist = Shania Twain, album = Come on Over
artist = The Beach Boys, album = Made in U.S.A.
I’m pleased to say this is released: https://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2016/12/19/release-20161213-album-cover-image-format/

We've just implemented the assessment part of the rule. Next up, the fixes and the settings UI: https://twitter.com/bliss_music/status/804719276829667328/photo/1

Streamers like the Bluesound node 2 seem to require cover art to be jpeg, where-as i have a seeming random mix of jpeg & png, it'd be nice if there was a format option to ensure all cover art is in a specific format.

Thanks, this is a duplicate of http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/489691-rule-to-allow-convert-different-image-formats so I'll merge the two to share the votes.

From Bluesound Q/A:
An index of the Bluesound local Library will look for Album Artwork in one of two places:
Stored as folder.jpg or cover.jpg in the same folder as the located music
A Jpeg embedded into the metadata of the music file -

Hi there
If you just want to convert some image formats. You can just add an image conversion SDK which supports to do that directly. That would be more convenient.Hope to help you:

As others have said, I'd really like to see this feature, as my in-car MP3 player doesn't display anything buy JPGs. If it's not possible to add conversions, then simply being able to restrict the file type that bliss uses would be great. It doesn't have to be limited to JPG, I'd just like to be able to choose what image formats are permissible.

I'm using Squeezebox Server on a NAS, and it only recognizes jpg. cover art. Being able to filter file types would be convenient.

I merged another idea wanting to convert from pngs to jpegs for use with Twonky and Linn DS. I think this should be generalised by simply having a checkbox list of allowed image formats, and whatever exists at the moment is converted to one of these formats. Would probably prefer jpeg, since that seems to have widest support.

Could probably just convert to the required format from whatever format was found, rather than rejecting art in the wrong format.

Other people have suggested this before.
