There are FOSS tools (in Ubuntu "bpm-tag" for example) that can do this, and I seem to recall mp3 tag v2.3 and later has BPM in their "extended" tags. This would be great for anyone who wants to listen to music while running, as playlists by BPM are actually really helpful in keeping tempo. Slightly niche, I know, but possible competitive advantage for bliss! ;)

We don't actually use AcousticBrainz - we use Acoustid for fingerprinting, maybe you're getting mixed up with that?
No reason we can't use AcousticBrainz, of course...

What analysis method / library / database would be used ?
Because there are many out there, some are good, some are awful...The idea is really interesting, though.
