[BIG ONE] Changing bliss to a task queue work flow style.
I believe this idea will fundamentally improve the usability of bliss. I purchased bliss in hope it would save me huge amount of time w/ managing a music collection of (5000+ albums and growing...) However, I found bliss saved me some time, but not that much!
What I realize is while bliss' idea and its features are great, the productivity issue is in the UI workflow design.
Bliss automatically scans library in the background, but most fix actions are designed to be done interactive(in real time). I found I choose the non-compliant album and click on fix, and then *WAIT*…

Ability to Enter a Custom Search String for Missing Album Art
For instance, some of my albums have extra info in the album name such as (2009 Remaster). When bliss searches for album art, it includes this extra info in the search and (most of the time) doesn't find the album art. It would be nice if I could edit the search string that is being used (basically just to remove this extra info) so that I could get the proper art. A step further might be to have this happen automatically if no art is found, but that is probably asking too much.

not to rescan all after adding a Genre
Each time I allow a new Genre to Bliss starts rescanning every single file.
Even if there is a good reason for that I suggest it does so only if requested.18 votes -
Add setting for Compilation Directory name.
Provide the ability to have a different folder for compilations.
Currently, the artist seems to default to 'Various'. The directory name could begin 'Compilations' for example.
Here's a similar idea to vary rules according to genre: http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/36753685-individual-rulesets-for-different-genres

Control over the case of a file/folder name
Currently bliss always performs case sensitive comparisons of music tags to file/folder names. It should be optional to force bliss to consider what a file/folder name should be in light of a preferred case.
For instance, when using <fileextension> to organise music files by their file type, it would be useful to be able to enforce capitals, otherwise on case sensitive file systems we may end with folders like mp3/, MP3/ and so on.

add logic to conditionally use tags in filename
i like to name my files with as little info as possible, but as much info as necessary in order to be able to clearly allocate the correct artist, album and track:
<artist> - <album> - <discnumber:nn if greater than 1><tracknumber:nn> - <songtitle>
example for a single disc album song:
Jim Morrison - An American Prayer - 02 - Ghost Song.mp3
example for a multi-disc album song:
Booker T. & The MG's - Time Is Tight - 0208 - Johnny, I Love You.mp3
i suggest to be able to conditionally use tags in the filename such as "IF discnumber >…

Add a goto folder in finder/explorer button to album detail page
have a button to open an album's folder in the os on the album detail page to let the user manually examine/fix files/folder.

The ability to catalogue the library
The ability to produce, print and export a "catalogue" of the music library which could be sorted by album, artist, quality etc.

Automatic tag correction
I expected Bliss to fix missing tags automatically (genres, years, etc.). I have around 3,000 albums in my library, over 1,000 of which don't have a year. I was surprised that a scan didn't automatically fix this. Instead, I need to go to my "Inbox" and tell it to fix these, but only up to 96 at a time - that's over 100 clicks to fix them all (hardly automated). Can't Bliss be set to automatically fix anything you put in your criteria without so much manual intervention?

Add Lyrics to id3 tags
There are a couple sites to review.

Derived tags
bliss should allow textual tags to contain "derived" data; that is, to provide consistent manipulations of canonical data to a defined scheme.
An example of this may be to append the bitrate to an album name. Using a template engine, the album could be defined as so:
Album name: <album name> [<format>]
Tags could potentially be combined with others:
Track name: <track name> (<artist name>)
Set out in more detail here: https://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2017/10/03/derived-tags/

Display Directory name and complete path for manual choosing album art
When choosing the album art manually nowhere you can know the directory name of the current "album" and that can help alot for choosing the good cover matching good album version

Exception to case rules
When enforcing a title case rule, it should be possible to make an exception for abreviations so that an album can still be compliant.

Adding a "Restart bliss" option to the web interface.
This is a feature that I did not think would be needed, but with the latest version being released I was not able to see the update from the web UI until bliss was restarted. Since I run bliss on CentOS, there is no provided init scripts and the one I have created only starts bliss so the easiest and quickest way for me to reboot bliss is to bounce my server (which also serves media via SubSonic).
The update process restarts bliss at the end so I assume the code for a restart is already written and could easily…

Add a capability to add the correct linked release if it is not found by Bliss
Add a capability to add the correct linked release if it is not found by Bliss.
Often (especially for more obscure albums) the album is marked non-compliant as the list of linked releases does no find the actual matching release. If I unlink all releases and rescan, it will clear the errors, but it would be good, after unlinking all the incorrect releases, to be able to add the correct release so bliss was able to verify the tags against the correct release (rather than just marking it all as compliant becuase it has no linked releases to check against).11 votes -
Handle folders containing Singles
I have a main folder called "Full Albums" which contains the folder structures defines in my rules. I also have a number of folders like "Various - 00s", "Various - 90s" etc. Each of this folders contains lots of individual mp3 singles, each mp3 has it's own genre, year and file naming convention (without track numbers).
The only way I could think of doing this is allowing multiple music folders, and allowing us to setup rulesets for a each folder (or group of folders).

In the "Set to" genre fixes, allow multiple genres to be set
Being able to tag songs with multiple tags through the UI or automatically.

Auto suggest album art based on file name or tags
For me as well as many others I would assume you end up with hundreds of mp3s that are missing or otherwise have a compilation album title. I would rather also see a list of album images from albums that contain the same (Title). Viewing that list with (Band - Album) names listed under it would greatly speed up finding custom images.

For file organisation, create a new album artist variable to order artist names as Last, First.
Create a new album artist token to order artist names as Last, First. Also order groups as "The Beatles" to "Beatles, The"
