Make Inbox faster
My inbox is really slow to open, if it opens up at all. I suspect that this is because there are lots of entries. I've got 422 albums in my collection. Bliss is running on my Synology DS213+ NAS. Would it be a good idea to be able to mark some Inbox items as ignored, and have them then not show up be default. Because some suggestions (mostly for Title Case renaming) are just wrong. I'll make another suggestion for that.
The same applies to Activity. Although that is quick to open, I don't need to see the past 600+…3 votesThe old Inbox has now been replaced by the new one – I’m considering this declined as I won’t work on the old one anymore.
The new Inbox should hopefully load faster, lazily loading images.

not much GUI for what to do next.
I selected Music folder and scan it. it shows only blank CD as Album covers. that's all ? what is next action. no guidance in menu.
also works for Flac or Ape or WMA or Ogg file ? it was Flac file.2 votesHave to decline this because fixing this is not particularly measurable, but thanks for the feedback (also see comment for more help).

this thing is slow and pretty dumb,
I have no clue what service you're using to gather album art, but it takes forever to do its thing AND it can't find common album art.
Van Halen 1984, Rush 2112, just to name only two very obvious albums it couldn't find. I bought this thing to save me time. I could have found the album art a lot quicker if this is "normal" for this program. sorry, no punches pulled. glad to give more focused info at your request.1 voteWe’ll continue this by email. Looks like there were some problems on our cover art server last night which would cause this, in parallel I’ll check your logs to see if I can see what was going on. In the meantime I’ll close this, as it’s pretty difficult to measure when bliss stops being slow or dumb.

Automatic cover art selection
Cover art is the only thing which is not fully automatic. I am not that maniac about cover art so mostly would accept first cover art found within desired resolution.
1 voteThe only aspect of cover art selection that isn’t automatic is downgrading data size (see http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/1813987-shrink-artwork-due-to-data-size-should-be-automa ). Cover art selection has always been automatic.
If it is not working for you, this will be because of a bug of some sort. Can you send me a debug archive (http://www.blisshq.com/support/reporting-problems.html) with some example album names whose album art were not completed automatically?

Remove One Click approve
Automate the adding and updating of music information. Why do I have to click to approve, it drives me crazy, add setting to approve all, for a server based application that should run in the background there should be no need for an approval to enforce names.
Ive had to switch to Musicbrainz picard app as at least there I can apply changes across all recommendations, and its free!.
1 voteThanks for your feedback, and I understand this might be tedious.
However, I require the ideas here to be measurable as to when they are “done”. I do not wish to blanket force all fixes to be automatic, as some people are not comfortable with that. Instead, could you raise ideas to automate individual rules (e.g. the artist name rule), and then I can implement and close each item.
See, for example: http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/2387358-automatically-rename-genres and http://ideas.blisshq.com/forums/21939-bliss/suggestions/1813987-shrink-artwork-due-to-data-size-should-be-automa

Piece of Junk do't work
This Program does not work! I Installed & started it but program is on my screen> this program is trash
1 voteSorry, we can only consider measurable (when is it fixed?) and constructive comments. As you haven’t described the problem this fails both tests. If you want to fix the problem together, please email us as described here: http://www.blisshq.com/support/reporting-problems.html

Thanks for letting me know, I’ll look into the bliss tests to see if we can fix this. Otherwise it doesn’t affect bliss so for now I shall decline this.

Thanks for the feedback but the ideas here need to be constructive and measurable, so I’ll have to close this. If you have something specific please re-post.

Track/Album names with a comma
These seem to be causing issues as the comma is not recognised in the files name checks..is there a fix?
2 votesSorry for taking a while to get back to you on this. I looked into it and it appears to work for me. If you want to get this fixed, please create a debug archive ( http://www.blisshq.com/support/faq/general/how-create-debug-archive.html ) and send to me with the album that is causing the problem.

DELETE
How do I delete bliss. It doesn't show up in my control panel list of programs
1 voteUninstall is already implemented. You can find it under the bliss program group. Click the Windows button, “All programs” > “bliss” > “Uninstall bliss”.

Couldn't lock file errors
Couldn't lock file errors especially on Linn Records
1 voteHi Paul. This occurs when other software is also updating the files. Do you have other software running that could be reading or updating your music files? Try seeing if shutting them down helps. If not, please get in contact via email: http://www.blisshq.com/contact.html
I’m going to decline this idea for bliss for now because it’s likely to be related to other software. But please get in contact so we can resolve the problem.

faster?
Assessing my music collection (hundreds of albums) was taking tens of hours but activity monitor didn't indicate much cpu or network activity. I tried setting the scan to one folder with 4 albums on a local SD card. It still took about an hour to assess the 4 albums. When I previously used Bliss it behaved similarly but after some time really got going. It's now too slow to use. I've updated to the latest Bliss and the latest MacOS and disabled App Nap as you suggest. Still dead slow. Any log files I can send which might help?
Bill1 voteThanks for posting, I try to keep this forum just for measurable tasks… while it’s very important to have a fast app, making-it-faster isn’t descriptive enough to know when this is “done”. So I’m going to decline this, but I still want to fix this for you.
Have you rebooted since disabling App Nap? Remember you need to disable it after each reboot (a pain, I know).
Can you send me a debug archive – “Help” then “Download debug archive”. Send it to http://www.blisshq.com/contact.html

Can clicking on a Bliss album or artist allow it to be played via LMS (or iTunes)?
Make Bliss a jukebox interface
1 voteNice idea, and thanks, but with time and resources precious I need to concentrate on building great organisational features. I have considered adding an ability to play a track to help with identification, but bliss will never be a music player, even one that merely instructs another player.

Sorry - you lost me...
Installed on Mac 10.8.5 and pointed to my NAS. No albums found. Tried local computer. No albums found. The selector for setting the root dir was clumsy (most of the time it scrolls incorrectly and the final selection doesn't stick).
Nice idea, but if I can't even get the basics to work I'll move on :-(
1 voteThanks for your feedback… I’m going to have to close this because all the ideas here need to be measurable, i.e. reasonably sure when they are “done”.
If you want me to look into this further (rgrds no albums found), please email support@blisshq.com with your debug archive (“Help” then “Download debug archive”).
I agree the folder selector is clumsy, looking to improve that soon and provide shortcuts to existing known locations (e.g. NAS music folders).

Declining this one as it works as required… please see comments for more.

You match the name of the disc with the artwork
Whu use artwork for Beethoven when the Dosc is clearly named Mozart!!! And the disc is a set of discs already identified correctly
1 voteAs requested in our support emails, please send a debug archive “Help” then “Download debug archive” and we’ll take a look at all of these issues. I’m closing this particular issue for this particular CD because it is a bit too minor… I want to fix ALL of the incorrect lookups.

make ui suck less
currently sucks a lot. so many clicks just to reach a screen where you can set album details. have to click why next to every album. have to click edit on every album screen. what else am i doing there? have to type in years manually. have to click open the tag selection every time. cant see tracks on album screen. come on.
2 votesHi, I’m going to have to decline this because I strive for all ideas to be SMART – specific, measurable etc. See my comment for more detail addressing your points.

Ability to work on files folders on a NAS
Don't seem to be able to direct the Music Location to use a folder / files on a NAS, as this is where I now keep my music its absence makes Bliss of very limited use to me.
Or is there some way to do it that i haven't figured out.1 voteUnless there’s some strange edge condition I don’t know of, it’s definitely possible to use a NAS. Many users of bliss use NASes and some even install bliss on the NAS! Please see http://www.blisshq.com/support/faq/install-first-use/networked-music-collection.html

Scheduled auto start/stop for NAS devices
I use Bliss on a Synology NAS device, It works well, but It's eating a lot of CPU and RAM (ATM : CPU : 99% RAM: 72%).
It would be nice to have an option to run Bliss only at a scheduled time (late at night is a good example).
Regards.1 voteI’ve had a think about this and I think that this should be the responsibility of the OS. So use cron, or whatever is the right tool for your system.

Use Fileorganisation token "?" as an "if EMPTY" Statement
Is it possible to Uses the subsequent token if the preceeding token evaluates to EMPTY instead of a string? This way it would be possible to define a fallback for eg the tracknumber if not present in the tags.
2 votesAs far as I understand your request, this is already implemented. See http://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-blog/2013/07/30/more-uses-conditional-file-org/index.html
