The Cubic algorithm is more than sufficient to make resizing "pretty", it was just a thought because I don't know how "picky" people are.

I'm no expert on image processing, so please take my comments with a grain of salt. :)

I've found this issue is exacerbated if you use images that are close to the size you are downsampling to. After reading what Dan posted, I think Bliss's Affine transformation is similar to GIMP's resize algorithm without interpolation turned on (Was testing and comparing images from bliss's conversion from JPEG to png with an image at 1080x1080 going down to 900x900 versus that image from 3000x3000 down to 900x900, interpolation still looks much better in both cases).

If another image scaling library is imported, maybe allow the end user to choose with interpolation method they want (linear, cubic, etc)?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I'm honestly not sure how much of it is an issue with professional/large record companies like Sony, etc. I have personally only have had one occurrence where I bought a cd from a smaller record label and received a CD which was not an audio CD but simply a data CD filled with mp3's (Which is a more obvious/different issue in and of itself).

I do not have specific information on it except on this case, I will probably use a tool like spek or aucdetect to see if there is an album that is in MP3.

I believe the issue is more common with "high-fidelity" online music stores, where these smaller more inexperienced record labels will just post whatever file they get, typically a 320 mp3, again this is speculation. If I find more info on the "commonality" of CD's being lossy transcoded I will let you know.

To also note: I could definitely write a batch script to automatically go through all the folders for me and generate the authenticity reports, but I like to think of Bliss as my go to for all of my musical auditing woes ;)
